Annual Steubenville Summer Retreat Information

What is the Steubenville Youth Conference?
Steubenville is a weekend-long retreat with you and 2,000 other high schoolers! You spend the weekend on a college campus, listening to great speakers, watching skits and funny games, singing, praying, going to Mass reconciliation, and adoration, chatting in small group, making friends from all over North America, and basically letting your life be ROCKED by God! Talk to someone who went last year (we took 42 youth) to find out what a great time they had.

Steubenville? Where is that?
The town of Steubenville is in Ohio, near the Pennsylvania border, about ½ an hour west of Pittsburgh. Specifically, we will be staying on the campus of Franciscan University of Steubenville, a small Catholic college with about 2,000 undergrads. (It’s also where Kristen and I went to college!) There will not be any opportunity or need to leave campus at any time during the weekend.

How are we getting there?
We’re renting a bus!

Where will we sleep and eat?
The entire conference takes place on the Franciscan University’s campus. All youth and chaperones will sleep in the dorms, on dorm beds or on the floor in common rooms. Most dorms are not air conditioned so you are allowed/encouraged to bring fans. We eat on campus, too. All meals are provided as part of the conference fee and are given to us through the campus cafeteria.

How much will all this cost?
The cost for this year’s trip is $275 per person. The price includes registration, transportation to and from the conference, lodging, all meals while on campus, and OLPH group T-shirts!

What about chaperones?
We will be looking for chaperones for this trip!  The chaperone to teen ratio will be about 1:8. Adults will sleep in separate dorms than youth, but eat the same meals as all conference participants. But… you get to attend for FREE! Although the conference is designed for youth, adults will certainly draw closer to God through the talks, music, and sacraments.

OK, cool, how do I sign up?
If  this sounds like something that you would like to be a part of, talk with Matt right away.  He will need a deposit of $100 to reserve your place. The final deposit will be due later in the spring. There is also some paperwork that must be completed. You will need to fill out not only an OLPH permission slip, but also a Steubenville Youth Conference Liability Form. Your spot can only be officially reserved when you turn in a $100 deposit, along with both permission forms.   Spaces typically fill up within the first few days that our dates are announced so make sure you act quickly!!
